Description: The Business Development Manager/Surveyor drives growth for GMCG's maritime services. This role involves identifying and securing new business opportunities, building key relationships, and ensuring client satisfaction. With a focus on meeting sales targets, the successful candidate contributes to GMCG's position as a trusted partner in the maritime industry.

Duties & Responsibilities:
1. Develop and implement strategic plans to expand the company's customer base and achieve sales targets.
2. Identify and pursue new business opportunities through market research, networking, and relationship building.
3. Cultivate and maintain relationships with key clients and stakeholders to drive business growth and maximize revenue.
4. Lead the sales process from prospecting and lead generation to negotiation and closing deals.
5. Conduct presentations and product demonstrations to showcase company offerings and value propositions.
6. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including marketing, product development, and customer service, to ensure alignment of sales strategies and initiatives.
7. Analyze market trends, competitor activity, and customer feedback to identify areas for improvement and inform business decisions.
8. Prepare and deliver regular reports and presentations on sales performance, market trends, and business development activities.
9. Stay updated on industry developments, best practices, and emerging technologies to maintain a competitive edge.
10. Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and trade shows to promote brand awareness and generate leads.
11. Provide training, guidance, and support to junior sales staff and other team members as needed.
12. Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
13. Handle customer inquiries, complaints, and escalations in a professional and timely manner to maintain customer satisfaction.
14. Performing duties and responsibilities independently and without supervision using established Class procedures/processes and adhering to Class Quality Management System.
15. Performing Classification/ Statutory surveys, Maritime management system (ISM/ISPS/MLC)
16. Auditing on vessels, platforms, or other marine structures and at manufacturers/ companies for compliance with Class or statutory requirements.
17. Acting as a professional specialist for the organization in the application of related rules, regulations, requirements, concepts, principles, and processes.
18. Maintaining active awareness of new methods and developments affecting the technical scope of assigned responsibilities and making recommendations for changes in the surveying processes and safety programs as warranted by such developments.
19. Recommending new approaches to problems encountered and makes changes in methods, procedures, or design where necessary.
20. Planning, scheduling, and coordinating various phases of surveying work and monitoring the quality of service on work performed.
21. Engaging in contact with clients in order to resolve problems within area of expertise and coordinating the survey related matters with IRS Technical Head Office. Primary point of contact will be the designated person in Survey Assurance Group.
22. Preparing technically accurate and timely reports of all inspections and surveys performed.
23. Maintaining journals/logs for all vessels surveyed in area of responsibility.
24. Oversee and monitor work and projects performed by lower-level surveyors to ensure quality of work and appropriate application of IRS Rules and processes.
25. Sharing professional expertise and knowledge with lower or entry level Surveyors by providing limited supervision, guidance, and training.
26. Promoting the services and capabilities of IRS to present and potential customers.
27. Maintaining survey files in an orderly and up-to-date manner in area of responsibility.
28. Conducting research and tests to inform the design and construction of marine vehicles and equipment.
29. Preparing technical reports such as research, systems diagnostics, and design analysis documentation.
30. Presenting layout and engineering designs to clients and team members for analysis and feedback.
31. Supervising all aspects of the design process for structural, mechanical, and electrical systems.
32. Overseeing the construction of marine vessels and equipment to ensure their quality and integrity.
33. Performing quality control inspections and tests on all systems and equipment and installing upgrades, as needed.
34. Ensuring adherence to safety precautions and project timelines.
35. Performing maintenance on marine vehicles and equipment.
36. Investigating and diagnosing technical issues and implementing effective repairs.
37. Visits vessels, marine structures, and manufacturers for routine survey activities.
38. Performs work that involves conventional surveying practices but may include moderately complex problem resolution and coordination of activities among other disciplines.
39. Prepares technically accurate and timely survey reports, and responses to letters, faxes, and other forms of communication.
40. Work directly with clients to identify and resolve problems in area of technical expertise.
41. Coordinate issuance of certificates, share information about ships status, to confirm services on progress.
42. Coordinate and confirm applicability of maritime international and national regulations, scope of the survey, additional requirements, designation of surveyors.
43. Coordinate additional discount or comment about market situation, in order to take additional actions for the business. To report the resume of the activities.
44. Other external relationships: With PSC in the communication of deficiencies and their corrections onboard
45. Perform any other duties or projects assigned by upper management to support business objectives and initiatives.

Requirements – Skills:
• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Naval Architecture, or related field.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in business development, sales, or marketing roles within the maritime, offshore, or related industries.
• Fluency in English.
• Good knowledge of Marine Market and Industry.
• Excellent communication skills.
