  • Short Job Description:

Our company’s products are used in ports and terminals worldwide. They provide shippers with crucial information about the condition of their perishable cargo. Our main product line comprises networked and wireless remote monitoring equipment designed for seagoing refrigerated containers called reefers. Our team works on developing software and designing equipment that captures temperature, humidity, and other essential data to maintain the quality of perishable cargo while aboard vessels and in ports.

Our company has a long history of innovation. In 1985, we were the first to provide remote reefer monitoring for the shipping industry. Since then, we have gained a reputation as a “Company of Firsts” by introducing progressively innovative solutions to the industry. Our products have helped customers become more efficient and profitable in a highly competitive business environment.

A few of the many systems developed by our engineering team include,

Reefer controller remanufacturing (an industry first in 1981)
Wireless reefer monitoring (another industry first in 2011)
Developed Cargo & Fuel Level Sensor Technology (2019)
    Container Door Sensor Technology (2021)
Illuminated Alert System for Marine Terminal Reefer Monitoring (First of its kind in 2023)
Have you ever wondered how the bananas from Ecuador, oranges from Brazil, and blueberries from Chile, end up at your local supermarket? Well, you might be surprised to know that their journey is likely monitored with products made by our company. We develop the technology that keeps these food items safe during their transportation. And the best part is, you can be a part of it too!

Why we need you at RTE:
Demand for refrigerated produce is up, way up. As container port traffic increases, so does the need for innovative products that help reefer terminal operators increase efficiency and productivity. Your skills as an electrical engineer will be a valued asset to our brilliant team of dedicated engineers who creatively work together to discover new solutions to problems

As an electronics specialist at RTE, you will be crucial in taking a product from concept to design. Your electrical engineering background will establish the foundation of our product development cycle, and you will need hardware, software, and interpersonal skills to succeed in this role.
