Each of the standard debris-resistant light-duty plate wheels has a thread protector that prevents threads and wastes from entering the wheel shaft and damaging or contaminating it. This helps to prolong the life of wheels when used in dusty or dirty environments. They are suitable for transporting relatively light loads along smooth and flat surfaces in applications where they will not be found with impact loads, such as laundry, textile factories, offices, retail shops, schools and government buildings. The wheels are attached to the lower part of carts, rolling platforms, tables and similar equipment that will be manually moved at moderate speeds. Sometimes known as institutional plate wheels, these standard light service plate wheels have galvanized steel frames.

The standard plate wheels have king bolts that safely unite the wheel mounting plates to their frames. They are used in almost all industries and are the most common type of rodaja used for general use applications. The mounting plates of the wheels are installed at the bottom of the machinery, cars or other equipment, and the wheels allow the equipment to roll to reduce the effort when moving or changing position. These wheels are available in rotating and rigid versions. The rotating wheels can rotate 360°, allowing the equipment to change direction while wheeling. The rigid wheels roll in a straight line. Two rigid plate wheels will often be combined with two rotating wheels to allow the team to maneuver around curves and obstacles and maintain a straight course while rolling.
