The pleated, or surface, are thin filters that trap and retain sediment particles to prevent them from entering the fluid stream. These large pleated surface areas are typically used until the outer surface is completely covered with particles and then discarded. The pleated filter cartridges are available in a variety of sizes and microns () and are adjusted to compatible filter housings. They filter liquids for chemical handling, recycling and water filtration in general.
