The 50-400mm F/4.5-6.3 Di III VC VXD (Model A067) creates a new category within the high-performance mirrorless lenses. With a x8 zoom ratio that starts with an unpublished 50mm (commonly called the “standard” focal distance for full frame cameras), this new ultra-telephoto zoom for Sony E is the same size as the conventional 100-400mm lenses, even offering a wider focal distance on its wide angled end to enjoy an excellent versatility.

With a length of only 183.4 mm and a light weight of 1.155 g, the 50-400 mm F4,5-6.3 is extremely compact and provides unprecedented high performance in all focal distances. Despite the high magnification ratio, the quality of the image is maintained throughout the range of 50-400mm thanks to the provision of the different specialized lenses. This Tamron is equipped with the powerful VXD autofocus linear motor (Voice-coil eXtreme-torque Drive), whose autofocus mechanism is extremely silent, accurate and fast. In addition, the objective also presents a great versatility thanks to the patented image stabilization mechanism of Tamron VC (Vibration Compensation).

Since the 50-400mm provides an increase of up to half a natural size (ampling 1:2) with the short focal distance to 50mm, users can enjoy the world of macro-photography with excellent shot capabilities in the foreground and taking advantage of that focal distance the minimum focus distance of the target to the object is only 0.25m. The size of the 67mm filter is that of the vast majority of Tamron lenses for mirrorless cameras, facilitating the exchange when working with several objectives.

This goal also features new ergonomic features that help to shoot more comfortably thanks to an improved drum texture. The target has installed a connection port to access the TAMRON Lens UtilityTM program, originally developed and exclusively by TAMRON to update the target firmware and access specific parameters. Among these parameters the Lens UtilityTM offers for this 50-400mm F.4.5-6.3 the function of the “Focus Limiter” function that limits the focus area to reach faster during the shot. In addition, there is an optional ark-Swiss tripod mount to facilitate the use of tripod.

In short, the 50-400mm F4.5-6.3 is a portable and versatile zoom that ensures that users never lose the option of shooting photos, from the standard 50mm focal distance to the 400mm ultra-telezoom.
