Designed with an approach to sophisticated optical performance and abundant expressive strength, the new Art line offers superior image quality for high-level artistic expression. This new objective incorporates the concept of our new Art lens line.
High resolution with beautiful bokeh effect
Several types of optical aberrations may affect the image quality of a target. The chromatic aberration is one of the most important, and reducing it to a minimum is essential. There are two types of chromatic aberrations: transversal, which can be corrected with digital processing, and axial, difficult to reduce once taken the photograph. In the Sigma 35mm F1.4 DG HSM, the FLD (“F” Low Dispersion”) crystal, equivalent to fluorite characteristics, and the SLD crystal (Special Low Dispersion) help optimize the power distribution of the target. This optimization minimizes axial chromatic aberration by making the different wavelengths of light attack the same focus position, while also minimizing cross-sectional chromatic aberration. In addition, aspheric lenses help minimize astigmatism and field curvature. Thanks to these features, the resolution is extremely high from the center to the edges of the image.
