Stabilized and compatible with SIGMA APO teleconverters, this moderate TV has been revealed as an indispensable tool for lovers of approximation photography
Both by performance and convenience of use, this stabilised and high-performance macro lens has been converted over the years into a SIGMA supersales. With a working distance of 14.2 centimeters, the shadows of the lens and the camera do not interfere in the final image, which facilitates photographing subjects such as flowers in natural lighting conditions. The main subject appears sharply defined, while the areas out of focus present a nice bokeh thanks to the rounded diaphragm of 9 blades.
The SIGMA 105mm F2.8 EX DG MACRO OS HSM incorporates a floating internal approach system that moves two separate lens groups. This minimizes the aberrations that occur when changing the shooting distance and provides high optical performance from infinity to approximation captures with a magnification of 1:1. It also corrects distortion, especially in macro shots. The total length of the target does not vary during the approach, which facilitates its handling.
The internal construction of this objective provides excellent optical performance. The SLD crystal (special low dispersal) with a high refractive index corrects the chromatic and spherical aberrations and the curvature of the field, and also guarantees high performance in all shooting distances. The Super Multilayer coating, on the other hand, reduces parasitic reflections and lights, providing high-quality images with a high contrast.
The hypersonic approach motor (HSM) provides a quick and silent AF, which is possible to alternate at any time and with great comfort with the manual approach to have greater control over the image. On the other hand, the integrated optical stabilizer (OS) greatly facilitates capture. The compensation of the motion of the camera is appreciated in the viewer, and this allows to compose and focus with greater precision.
This is compatible with SIGMA APO teleconverters. With the APO 1.4x EX DG equals a macro 147mm F4 telephoto lens (the autofocus does not work from 45 centimeters away from the subject), while with the APO 2x EX DG becomes a 210mm F5.6 with a manual focus. Both allow you to enjoy a greater work distance in macro photography while maintaining the 1:1.
Next to the target is supplied a parasol adapter that provides greater protection against parasites and is specially designed for use with cameras equipped with an APS-C sensor.
