The EF 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6L IS II USM lens provides a wonderful combination of avant-garde performance, compact construction and excellent resolution power, ideal for wildlife photography or sporting events. The lens features a fluorite element and a super-UD element that help provide stunning resolution and contrast that reduces chromatic aberration across the zoom range. Canon's new Air Spherical Covering Technology (ASC) helps to significantly eliminate ghost images and flashes in later lighting, while fluoride coating on the front and rear surfaces of the lens helps to reduce stains and fingerprints. A circular opening of nine blades provides soft and beautiful backgrounds, and the Optical Image Stabilizer in three modes (standard, panoramic and during exposure only) provides up to four stops* of image correction. The new internal Automatic Approach (AF) system helps ensure a precise and fast approach of up to 3.2 feet with a maximum expansion of .31x. Improvements to ease of use include a rotary-type zoom ring with adjustable torque to achieve a more precise and adaptable zoom performance; a redesigned tripod mount that can be installed and uninstalled without removing the camera lens; in addition, the new parasol is included offering a side window that allows you to easily adjust special filters, such as polarization, without having to remove the parasol. Built resiliently with an advanced sealing system against dust and water, the EF 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6L IS II USM lens provides stellar performance with refined controls for a wide variety of situations.
